This popular competition invites emerging film and video makers to explore cultural experiences between Canada and Asia by reflecting and portraying our lives. The short videos and films selected are from 30 seconds to 5 minutes length and the three winners will receive an award for their films.

Aisling Chin-Yee
Producer Aisling Chin-Yee is currently working on two feature films; Breaking the Band and The Killing of the Family Dog while also developing her feature documentary Colour.

Denis Vaillantcourt
With more than 20 years of experience in the arts as an acclaimed author, video-editor, and actor, Denis Vaillantcourt selects videos for a distributive purpose at Videographe.

Mathieu Li-Goyette
Editor-in-chef of the French Canadian webzine Panorama-cinéma based in Montreal and a collaborator for "Hors Champ." Mathieu Li-Goyette's insightful film essays and critics have been contributed to reinforce the understanding of Asian films to the francophone community.

Nguyen-Anh Nguyen
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Nguyen-Anh Nguyen and moved to Quebec at the age of six. Nguyen-Anh Nguyen founded GreenGround Productions in 2008, an acclaimed emerging Canadian production house with numerous international awards.

Masoud Raouf
Born in Iran where he studied painting and has lived in Canada since 1988. Masoud Raouf produced and directed a number of acclaimed films including the powerful and colorful animation, "Blue Like A Gunshot (2003)," which won the Jutras award for best animation.
