AmerAsia is honoured to have the Canada Council for the Arts join us in presenting a seminar for emerging media artists this Sunday, March 11 beginning at 2pm. Artists are welcome to bring their own individual projects for consultation. We hope that artists in the field will benefit from this prestigious event. Hope to see you there!

AmérAsia is holding a seminar for Financing Methods and Networking for Culturally Diverse Organizations, which will be followed by a Grant Writing Workshop, on Sunday March 11 at 2 pm, Hotel Zero 1. The seminar will focus on funding and networking opportunities for culturally-diverse arts organizations, and how the Montreal culturally diverse arts communities can strengthen, adapt and grow in the changing resource landscape.

This seminar will be presented by Shuni Tsou from the Equity Office at the Canada Council for the Arts, who will discuss the development of culturally diverse organizations in the Canadian arts ecology and share best practices in organizational development, and Janet Lumb from Accès Asie, which specializes in multi-disciplinary Asian art forms. Lumb will provide insight into how arts organizations can survive and prosper. Anuj Khosla from EyeSteel Films will offer his perspective as a film producer.

A two-hour Grant Writing Workshop for emerging artists will be led by Paul Thinel, Program Officer in the Media Arts Section at the Canada Council for the Arts. Paul will provide a general overview of the Media Arts Section programs for individuals and organizations, and eligibility requirements. He will focus on grants to emerging artists in media arts fields, provide grant-writing tips, and take time to focus on budgets. Attendance is open to all emerging media artists in Montréal, and individual artists can meet with Paul to discuss their project.

Shuni Tsou, agente de programme, Bureau de l’équité, participera à titre de paneliste lors d’une table ronde intitulée «Financing Methods and Networking for Culturally Diverse Organizations ». La présentation de Shuni portera sur le développement des organismes de la diversité culturelle dans l’écologie des arts canadiens et sur les meilleures pratiques en développement organisationnel.

La table ronde sera suivie par un atelier de rédaction d’une demande de subvention destiné aux artistes en arts médiatiques en début de carrière qui sera mené par Paul Thinel, agent de programme, Service des arts médiatiques. L’entrée sera libre.
